1) Intro
My sticker.
For the little Eeepc 701, I have included the following features:
a) Bluetooth
b) Wifi access at home
c) UTMS access with a usb UTMS stick
d) DVB-T  The main plus:
The added hardware (a,c,d) devices can be used with other computer desktop.
They are small enough to be brought along with the Eeepc.
The bluetooth and wifi setup for home usage are described.
2) Bluetooth
I use a D-LINK dbt-122 dongle, the one I run with on my desktop.
My Google friend shows where to find the necessary informations to make bluetooth
useful:
- GPRS connection with my Samsung SGH D900;
- File tranfer with the SGH D900;
Main things to know: bluez, obexftp, gprs helper.
2-a Setup:

3) Wifi at home setup
I have an adsl router with 4 swicthes, Netopia
How to set up a wifi "access point" ?
Answer: get an wifi router ...
I bought a DLINK wifi router, at promotional price.
3-a) DLINK wifi router Setup
http://forum.eeeuser.com/viewtopic.php?id=10042
http://tuxeee.blogspot.com/2007/12/wifi-avec-cl-wpa.html
In short:
First, setup the DLINK wifi router, via ethernet link (RJ45)to the desktop.
Second, connect the wifi router to the adsl router.
Third, test wifi-hotspot
From the desktop open the DLINK wifi router admin address with a browser:
http://192.168.1.1
(As my currently installed Netopia adsl router has the default admin address: 192.168.0.1
the dhcp address running from 192.168.0.40)
Set the DLINK wifi default admin address as 192.168.0.2 (LAN)
Enable the dhcp function (DHCP).
Enable WEP and the password (WIRELESS).
Save the settings and shutdown (switch off)) the wifi
3-b) Connect DLKINK wifi router to the Netopia adsl router.
With the provided RJ45 cable, connect the DLINK wifi router,
via one of the four ethernet switches plugins (not the wan plug),
to one of the ethernet switches plugs of the adsl router (Netopia).
Switchoff, switchon both devices and wait some time ...
3-c) Wifi at home
Eeepc -> Internet -> Click on Wifi icon;
Should show the wifi router name;
On mine, it shows "Default".
Create a wifi profile:
Network-> Create -> Wireless wizard Atheros AR5007 Dhcp SSID-> Default WEP , password. Save.
Restart Eeepc (to be sure ...).
Once restarted, Internet-> Network -> Defaukt wireless connection-> connect.
or Internet-> Wireless icon; Choose Default; connect.
